The past catches up with a country gentleman at his wedding to orphan, Rose Maybud, when his brother, Sir Despard Murgatroyd, discovers brother Ruthven is not dead, but living in disguise as Robin Oakapple, to avoid the family curse. Ancestral pictures come to life to enforce the curse. Will Robin/Sir Ruthven give in to the curse and become the latest Bad Baronette of Ruddigore or will he be able to continue a life of country gentility with his lovely Rose? And does any of this really “matter, matter, matter?” Bad baronettes, ghosts, kidnapping, lies and madness run riot amongst the townsfolk of Rederring in the VCGSRC production of the Gilbert & Sullivan operetta, Ruddigore.
